Abstract
Det er beskrevet en fremgangsmåte for påvisning av en defekt i en føringsskinne (1), hvor en ultralydbølge (40) med en frekvens mindre enn 100 kHz innkoblet i føringsskinnen etter minst to refleksjoner på innsider av skinneoverflaten som står overfor hverandre, detekteres. Fremgangsmåten kan gjennomføres både i refleksjons- og i transmisjonsmodus. Eksempelvis kan derved en jernbaneskinne overvåkes for defekter og skinnegjennombrudd under togdrift på jernbanestrekningen. Det angis også foretrakkede innretninger for gjennomføring av fremgangsmåten. Flere innretninger kan hver gang kombineres til et overvåkningssystem, som tillater overvåkning over store jernbanestrekninger på flere hundre km.
