[0044] Det beskrives et brønnloggeinstrument som omfatter et hus som er operativt koblet til en tilhørende føringsanordning og som kan beveges i brønnboringen. Inne i huset er det tilveiebragt et formasjonsprøvesystem og en aksiell forlengelsesmekanisme. Den aksielle forlengelsesmekanismen strekkes ut og trekkes inn på en kontrollert måte slik at formasjonsprøvesystemet kan utføre tester og ta prøver i en aksielt fastholdt posisjon i brønnboringen mens huset er i bevegelse gjennom brønnboringen.
