Abstract
En fremgangsmåte og et system for simulering av kirurgiske prosedyrer på en legemsdel, slik som et organ, i kunstige omgivelser tilveiebrakt av en datamaskinenhet, hvilke omgivelser omfatter en tredimensjonal matematisk beskrevet modell av nevnte legemsdel som reflekterer i det minste de geometriske og mekaniske egenskaper til nevnte legemsdel. Videre omfatter omgivelsene et virtuelt instrument som blir kontrollert av en fysisk føringsanordning forbundet til nevnte prosesseringsenhet, som gjør det mulig å påvirke nevnte modell, systemet er kjennetegne t ved at en todimenjonal projeksjon av nevnte modell som er representert ved en videosekvens inneholdende et innspilt bilde av en virkelig legemsdel, og at inngrep med det virtuelle instrumentet kun samvirker med nevnte modell.
