Foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører en rask og. samtidig nøyaktig fremgangsmåte og anordning for å generere minst en vektporsjon ved bruk av minst en grov strøm og en fin strøm av artikler, hvor artiklene i den fine strømmen danner en sekvens med n-artikler. Vekten til n-antallet artikler blir registrert og lagret med en eller flere veieinnretninger. Dette gir en vektfordeling for artiklene som anvendes til å velge ut en eller flere artikler fra sekvensen slik at det oppnås en porsjonsvekt med en minimal overvekt.
