Abstract

En fremgangsmåte for segmentert mel-dingstransmisjon hvor hver melding først deles opp i segmenter, hvoretter segmentene fragmenteres. En segmentparameter tilordnes hvert segment, og en segmentidentifikator hvert fragment. Fragmentene føres til et lavere nivå for forberedelse til rammer for transmisjon. Særlig gjelder transmisjonen overføring av korte meldinger, for eksempel kontroll/styremeldinger. Ved mottaking av en ramme innenfor et segment startes en timer, idet denne har en utløpsperiode. Mottaking av en neste ramme i segmentet stanser deretter timeren. Overskridelse av utløpstiden for en timer indikerer at en neste sekvensiell ramme er tapt.
