Abstract

The elastic sealing composition comprises a polymer, typically latex and preferably sulfur and a metal-containing compound. Typically, the method comprises the steps of: (a) placing the expandable tubular member in the wellbore, (b) placing an elastic sealing compound in the wellbore before or after step (a), (c) expanding the expandable tubular member before or after step (b) and ( d) allow the sealing mixture to solidify in the wellbore before, during or after step (c).
