9 SAMMENDRAG Dekanteringssentrifugen omfatter en skruetransportør som har et legeme (4) som bærer en skrue som omfatter én eller flere gjenger (7, 7'), og som har en nominell transporthastighet som varierer langs lengdeaksen. Et innløp (6) er tilveiebrakt i skruetransportøren for materialet som skal separeres. Skruetransportøren er utstyrt med en strømningsavbøyer (8, 8') som deler separasjonskammeret inn i en vesentlig sylindrisk separasjonsdel (1 7) og en i det minste delvis konisk utløpsdel (1 8). Umiddelbart oppstrøms av strømningsavbøyeren (8, 8') er det tilveiebrakt en overgangsdel (19) mellom separasjonsdelen (17) og utløpsdelen (18), og skruetransportøren (3) har en større nominell transporthastighet i overgangsdelen (1 9) enn i separasjonsdelen (1 7) umiddelbart før overgangsdelen (19), forandringen av nominell transporthastighet er etablert av en forandring (21) 20 av skruens stigning.
