Abstract

Oppfinnelsen vedrører et filter for en åpen systemforbindelses lag2-trafikkseparasjon i minst en aksessvitsjeruter (42) i et nettverk (40), med porter i ruterne (42, 44) som er konfigurert til det samme virtuelle lokalnett. Filteret filtrerer datapakketrafikken til portene, simulerer at, hvis kildeinnretningen og destinasjonsinnretningen er i den samme lag2-domene, ruterens lag2-adresse er den virkelige destinasjonsadresse både for kilden og destinasjonsinnretningen. Det simulerer også at, hvis kildeinnretningen og destinasjonsinnretningen ikke er i den samme lag2-domene, men i det samme lag3subnett, ruterens lag2-adresse er den virkelige lag2-destinasjonsadresse for kilden til destinasjonen. Ved hjelp av denne filtrering tilveiebringes bruken av et IP-subnett, spredning av det over flere eiendommer og et mangfold av aksessvitsjerutere og det samme subnett i flere lag2-domener, slik at man dekker flere kunder.
