Abstract

Den foreliggende oppfinnelsen beskriver en fremgangsmåte for å gi en pakketapsdeteksjon og hastighetsreduksjonsmekanisme for å opprettholde akseptabel kvalitet under en videosamtale. Ulike scenarier for pakketap som krever ulike hastighetsreduksjonsgrader blir tilpasset ved en todelt fremgangsmåte kombinert med en lavdels- og en høydelsbeslutning og hastighetsreduksjonsmekanismer. Fremgangsmåten har et fortløpende målt pakketap som inngangsverdi og bruker vektet pakketapsparameter fra nylig målt pakketap for å beslutte om hastighetsreduksjon skal gjøres, og hvis så, om lavdels- eller høydelshastighetsreduksjonsmekanismen skal brukes. 1
