Abstract
Fremgangsmåten gjør det mulig, ved hjelp av en iterativ inverteringsalgoritme å forutsi den rommessige fordelingen av den litologiske sammensetningen av sedimenter avsatt i et sedimentært basseng i løpet av et geologisk tidsintervall, og den tidsmessige utvikling av avsetningsprofilen under oppfyllingen av bassenget, samtidig som det nøyaktig tas hensyn til tykkelsene av de sedimentære sekvensene som er målt på annen måte. - Inndataene består av tykkelseskart over det undersøkte sedimentære laget, data i forhold til posisjonen og til sammensetningen av sedimentforsyningen ved grensene til det sedimentære bassenget som undersøkes, og fysiske parametere som karakteriserer transport av sedimenter i løpet av den undersøkte perioden. Disse dataene blir bestemt ved tolkning av seismiske undersøkelser, ved hjelp av målinger og observasjoner. Dette datasettet kan anvendes i en iterativ inverteringssløyfe initialisert ved hjelp av den akkomodasjonen som er tilveiebrakt ved hjelp av en stasjonær, multilitologisk, diffusiv modell. Denne sløyfen virker dermed som en fastpunkt-algoritme for korrigering av akkomodasjonene ved hjelp av en prekondisjonering av resten på de tykkelsessekvensene som er oppnådd ved hjelp av en ustasjonær modell. Denne prekondisjoneringen blir oppnådd ved å påføre tangentapplikasjonen av den stasjonære, multilitologiske modellen på resten på tykkelsene. Ved utgangen oppnår vi akkomodasjonen ved slutten av den betraktede sekvensen, så vel som batymetrien og overflatesammensetningsforbindelsene ved enhver tid i sekvensen av de ustasjonære modellene som er kalibrert til lagtykkelsene. - Anvendelse: spesielt lokalisering av hydrokarbonreservoarer.
