Oppfinnelsen omhandler en polymerisasjonsprosess hvori minst ett peroksid, med en halveringstid mellom 1 time og 0,001 time ved polymerisasjonstemperaturen ved doseringstidspunktet, doseres til reaksjonsblandingen ved polymerisasjonstemperaturen og hvori minst i løpet av en del av perioden som peroksidet doseres i i) kjøleanordningene av reaktoren holdes ved grunnleggende maksimal kjølekapasitet og ii) mengden initiator som doseres kontrolleres aktivt slik at den ønskede polymerisasjonstemperaturen oppnås og opprettholdes innen 0,3°C av nevnte polymerisasj onstemperatur.
