Abstract
Foreliggende oppfinnelse omhandler fremgangsmåter og apparat for bestemmelse av ionekonsentrasjoner, spesielt i brønnvann fra hydrokarbonbrønner, aquiferer osv. Den er nyttig i et bredt område av anvendelser, inklusiv å forutsi dannelse av avleiringer og "fingerprinting"av vann fra forskjellige kilder. Mer spesifikt omhandler oppfinnelsen anvendelse av ligander som har en elektronisk konfigurasjon som endres ved binding av de avleiringsdannende ionene i en vannprøve. Disse endringene kan for eksempel detekteres ved elektrokjemiske måter og er en indikasjon på konsentrasjonen til de avleiringsdannende ionene i prøven.
