Abstract
Det beskrives aktive impedanstilpasningssystemer (AIMS) og fremgangsmåter for å øke effektiviteten for en energiomformer (WEC) som har en aksling og et skall som er ment å plasseres i et vannlegeme og til å beveges relativt til hverandre som svar på krefter som påføres WECen av vannlegemet. Systemet omfatter anordning for: (a) å ekstrahere energi fra WECen og å produsere elektrisk utgangsenergi som en funksjon av bevegelsen på skallet (akslingen) relativ til akslingen (skallet); (b) å selektivt overføre energi til én av skallet og akslingen for å forårsake en økning i forflytningen og hastigheten (eller akselerasjonen) for én av skallet og akslingen relativ til hverandre, hvorved nettomengden med elektrisk utgangsenergi som produseres økes. Anordningen for å ekstrahere energi og for å selektivt tilføre energi kan implementeres ved å anvende en enkel anordning som er i stand til å bli drevet toveis, i term av både retning og kraft, eller kan implementeres av ulike anordninger.
