Abstract

Der omtales en fremgangsmåte for gjennomføring av en reaksjon som er kjennetegnet ved at karbondioksid kombineres med en alkalisk løsning basert på ammoniakk til dannelse av ammoniumbikarbonater, hvor bikarbonatene så omsettes videre med en saltholdig løsning og danner produktene alkalimetalibikarbonat og ammoniumklorid, og ammoniumkloridproduktet prosesseres videre i en dekomponering for å danne ammoniakk og saltsyre, eller for å danne ammoniakk og kalsiumklorid, eller for å danne ammoniakk og magnesiumklorid eller for å danne ammoniakk og andre stoffer, og ammoniakken returneres til det første trinnet for å danne nevnte alkaliske løsning med vann, mens alkalimetallbikarbonatet valgfritt videre nedbrytes til karbondioksid som returneres til fremgangsmåtens første trinn. l følge et annet aspekt anvendes oppfinnelsen for håndtering av brinevann fra et avsaltingsanlegg eller saltvann fra olje- og gassfelter eller brinelsaltvann fra enhver kilde, for fjerning av karbondioksid fra forbrenningsgass/avgass og naturgass, så som i forbindelse med kraftverk, olje- og gassfelter eller andre industrielle aktiviteter.
