Abstract
Oppfinnelsen angår et nytt apparat for å dyrke celler eller mikroorganismer der dyrkningskammeret er delvis fylt med flytende dyrkningsmedium og celler. Bølgeinduksjonsmekanismen løfter opp en avstand tilsvarende mellom 5 og 50% av kulturkammerets lengde. Blanding og lufting oppnås ved å indusere periodiske bølger fra et ytterpunkt av bioreaktoren til det andre. Siden utformingen av oppfinnelsen er svært enkel er det mulig å fremstille denne med et fleksibelt plastmateriale og anvende apparatet som et engangssystem. Videre minimaliserer et slikt blandings/luftingsprinsipp celleskade som vanligvis er forårsaket av skjærkrefter og små bobler. Siden bølgeinduksjonsmekanismen er svært enkel muliggjør dette enkel og effektiv oppskalering fra liten skala til stor skala. Et slikt oppskalerbart, effektivt og engangsbrukt kultursystem kan i stor grad redusere produksjonskostnadene.
