Abstract

En fremgangsmåte for behandling av postale forsendelser hvori man danner et bilde av hver enkelt forsendelse som omfatter informasjon vedrørende adressen (1) og hvor man på grunnlag av bildet av forsendelsen og en adressereferansedatabase utførerer en automatisk gjenkjennelse ved OCR av adresseinformasjon for distribusjon (8,9),at man i løpet av den automatiske gjenkjennelsen av adresseinformasjonen benytter (10) en database (11) hvori er organiserte ordnede lister av distribusjonspunkter for postruter for å ta hensyn til en beregnet merkostnad ved feil ved distribusjon knyttet til behandlingen av forsendelsen dersom denne leveres fil et feilaktig distribusjonspunkt.
