Abstract
En fremgangsmåte er beskrevet for å forbedre motstanden mot kjemiske angrep av aluminium eUer magnesium i ildfaste komponenter. I en fremgangsmåte er en slurry darmet omfattende kalsiumsilikatomfattende Udfast materiale og en barium- eller strontiumomfatende forbindelse. Den slurryen plasseres i en støpeform, tørkes så for å darme en komponent som er hydrotermisk prosessert for å darme en endelig komponent. I en andre prosedyre er et silikaomfattende porøst ildfast komponent impregnert med en vannholdig løsning av et oksid eller hydroksid av barium- eUer strontium og deretter tørket i luft.
