Abstract

Oppfinnelsen tilveiebringer en fremgangsmåte for dannelse av jernoksidpartikler med liten størrelse omfattende trinnene med fremstilling av en vandig utgangsoppløsning omfattende minst en av jern(III)ioner og komplekser derav, i en konsentrasjon på minst 0,1 % vekt/vekt jern og ved en pH på mer enn omtrent 1,5; den nevnte oppløsning opprettholdes ved en temperatur lavere enn 55 ºC i en retensjonstid hvori hydrolyse foregår, idet graden av den nevnte hydrolyse er tilstrekkelig til å minske pH med minst 0,2 enheter, hvori den nevnte retensjonstid ikke overstiger 14 dager, for å danne et system som inneholder en modifisert oppløsning; og betingelsene i det nevnte system reguleres med i det minste en av trinnene med oppvarming av den modifiserte oppløsning for å heve temperaturen derav med minst 10 ºC; pH av den modifiserte oppløsning heves med minst 0,3 enheter; og den modifiserte oppløsning fortynnes med minste 20 %; hvorved det dannes partikler hvori hovedmengden av de dannede partikler har størrelse mellom omtrent 2 nm og omtrent 500 nm.
