Abstract

Oppfinnelsen omfatter en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av torvbaserte brenselskuler, hvor fremgangsmåten omfatter: - å benytte våt torv fra en myrforekomst som naturlig råstoff i fremgangsmåten, idet slik våt torv typisk har en fuktighetsgrad i området 80-95 vektprosent; - å omdanne torven til kuleformede eller tilnærmet kuleformede enheter; og - å tørke de kuleformede enheter inntil disse har en restfuktighet på maksimum 12 vektprosent. Det særegne ved fremgangsmåten er at den også omfatter: - å blande den våte torv sammen med minst ett væteabsorberende biologisk fibermateriale med mindre fuktighetsgrad enn den våte torvs fuktighetsgrad; og - å tilføre slikt væteabsorberende fibermateriale inntil blandingen av torv og fibermateriale har en produksjonsfuktighet i området 50-75 vektprosent. Oppfinnelsen omfatter også anvendelse av væteabsorberende biologisk fibermateriale som innblandingsmateriale i våt torv ved fremstilling av brenselskuler fra en blanding av nevnte materialer, idet fibermaterialet fungerer som et integritetsforsterkende armeringsmateriale i slike brenselskuler.
