Abstract

Det er tilveiebrakt en forbedret fiksert ballast for en flytende offshorekonstruksjon. Materialet benyttet som ballast kan være en tung væske som blir pumpet inn i den fikserte ballasttanken under ballastering og tvunget ut av tanken under deballastering. Materialet kan også være et løsbart materiale som er malt opp i partikler og tilsatt vannet. Etter at en mettet løsning er oppnådd, blir mer partikler tilsatt for å produsere en velling. Vellingen blir levert til ballasttanken. Fjerning av slammet blir oppnådd ved å pumpe sjøvann inn i ballasttanken inntil alt ballastmaterialet er oppløst og tvunget ut av tanken.
