Abstract
Det beskrives et slitasje-, erosjons- og kjemisk resistent materiale inneholdende wolfram legert med karbon der karbonet er til stede i en mengde på 0,01 vektprosent opp til 0,97 vektprosent av den totale vekt og der materialet fortrinnvis omfatter en matriks av metallisk wolfram med dispergerte wolframkarbidnanopartikler med en partikkelstørrelse ikke over 50 nanometer, fortrinnsvis ikke over 10 nanometer. Materialet kan eventuelt også være legert med fluor der fluor er til stede i en mengde på 0,01 vektprosent og opp til 0,4 vektprosent av den totale vekt. Materialet viser en ekstrem hardhet og seighet.
