Abstract

En føler for optisk måling av en analytt i en flytende biologisk prøve særlig for måling av glukoseinnhold i blodet med en glukosemåler. I sin foretrukne utforming har føleren en skoform. Det vil si, den består av en overdel som inneholder en luftventil og et område som brukeren griper i for å sette føleren inn i en spalte på glukosemåleren og ta den ut. Underdelen, eller tå-delen, av føleren stikker ut fra glukosemåleren og sikrer en åpning inn i kapillarkanalen for innføring av en blodprøve inn i måleren der den kommer i kontakt med reagenser og utløser en optisk respons. Optikken inne i måleren avleser reagensenes optiske respons og sammenstiller den med glukoseinnholdet i prøven.
