In particular, embodiments of the application object relate to an electric, submersible pump assembly having a displacement pump driven by a rotary motor. In one embodiment, a pump assembly comprises a rotary motor adapted to actuate an oscillating pump. The rotary motor shaft is threaded to a drive element of the oscillating pump. In operation, rotation of the rotary motor causes reciprocation in the oscillating pump.
