Abstract

En fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av tri- og tetraoksymetylenglykol-dimetyleter (POMDMEn=3,4) ved å reagere formaldehyd med metanol og deretter arbeide opp reaksjonsblandingen ved destillasjon, omfattende trinnene med å: a) mate vandig formaldehydløsning og metanol inn i en reaktor og reagere for å gi en blanding a omfattende formaldehyd, vann, metylenglykol (MG), polyoksymetylenglykoler (MGn>1), metanol, hemiformaler (HF), metylal (POMDMEn=1) og polyoksymetylenglykol-dimetyletere (POMDMEn>1); b) mate reaksjonsblanding a inn i en første destillasjonskolonne og å separere til en lavkokerfraksjon b1 og en høykokerfraksjon b2 omfattende formaldehyd, vann, metanol, polyoksymetylenglykoler, hemiformaler og polyoksymetylenglykol-dimetyletere (POMDMEn>1); c) mate høykokefraksjon b2 inn i en andre destillasjonskolonne og å separere til en lavkokerfraksjon c1 omfattende formaldehyd, vann, metylenglykol, polyoksymetylenglykoler, metanol, hemiformaler, di-, tri- og tetraoksymetylenglykol-dimetyleter (POMDMEn=2,3,4), og en høykokerfraksjon c2; d) mate lavkokerfraksjon c1 inn i en tredje destillasjonskolonne og å separere til en lavkokerfraksjon d1 og en høykokerfraksjon d2 hovedsakelig bestående av formaldehyd, vann, metylenglykol, polyoksymetylenglykoler, tri- og tetraoksymetylenglykoldimetyleter (POMDMEn=3,4); e) mate høykokerfraksjon d2 inn i en fasesepareringsanordning og å separere til en vandig fase e1 hovedsakelig bestående av formaldehyd, vann, metylenglykol og polyoksymetylenglykoler, og en organisk fase e2 omfattende tri- og tetraoksymetylenglykoldimetyleter (POMDMEn=3,4); f) mate den organiske fasen e2 inn i en fjerde destillasjonskolonne og å separere til en lavkokerfraksjon f1 hovedsakelig bestående av formaldehyd, vann, metylenglykol og polyoksymetylenglykoler, og en høykokerfraksjon f2 hovedsakelig bestående av tri- og tetraoksymetylenglykol-dimetyleter (POMDMEn=3,4).
