Abstract
Den foreliggende oppfinnelsen angår bruk av en anode som er egnet for bruk i blant annet en reaktor for eliminering eller reduksjon av mikrobielle urenheter i væsker, lik som blant annet avløpsvann og vann beregnet for konsumering av mennesker eller dyr. Anoden består av en ekspandert metallplate, fortrinnsvis titan, dekket med et ikke korrosivt materiale, fortrinnsvis et lag av platina. Overflaten på anoden er utstyrt med fordypninger som øker den elektrokjemiske effekten mellom anoden og den tilsvarende katoden og derved øker den mikrobielle effekten og samtidig reduserer energien som kreves for å oppnå en effektiv drepende virkning på mikroorganismene.
