Abstract
En fremgangsmåte for å operere en nedhulls olje/vannseparator og en elektrisk neddykkbar pumpe (ESP) inkluderer måling av fluidtrykk nær én av pumpeinntaket, separatorinntaket og en bunn i et borehull. I det minste én av strømningsmengden og trykket måles ved separatorens vannutløp. Pumpe og en vannutløpsinnsnevring reguleres for å opprettholde en optimal fluidpumpetakt og en optimal injeksjonstakt av separert vann. Et strømningsreguleringssystem inkluderer en regulerbar ventil anordnet i et vannutløp fra separatoren. I det minst én av en trykkføler og en strømningsmåler er operativt koplet til vannutløpet. En kontroller er i signalkommunikasjon med nevnte minst én av en trykkføler og strømningsmåler og i operativ kommunikasjon med ventilen. Kontrolleren opererer ventilen for å opprettholde et selektert trykk og/eller en selektert strømningsmengde gjennom vannutløpet.
