Abstract

Det beskrives en anordning og en fremgangsmåte for å utvikle et hydrokarbonreservoar i en jordformasjon. Anordningen omfatter: (a) en bunnhullsenhet (BHA) som føres i et borehull i nevnte jordformasjon, der nevnte BHA omfatter: (A) en sender som genererer et første elektromagnetisk felt med en første fekvens i nevnte jordformasjon, (B) første og andre mottakere som henholdsvis genererer første og andre signaler som reaksjon på nevnte første elektromagnetiske felt, og (C) et kalibreringssystem omfattende en kalibreringskilde som kjører med en andre frekvens som er forskjellig fra den første frekvensen, som bestemmer en innbyrdes kalibrering av nevnte første og andre mottakere; og (b) en prosessor som fra nevnte første og andre signaler og nevnte bestemte innbyrdes kalibrering bestemmer avstanden til en grense i nevnte jordformasjon.
