Installasjonsmodul for tilveiebringelse av sjakter (4, 6, 9) med installasjoner (5, 7, 8, 10) i en fleretasjers bygning, og en fremgangsmåte som innbefatter bruk av en slik installasjonsmodul. Installasjonsmodulen (1, 16) har en bakside (2), en frontside (3) og minst én første sjaktdel (4) og en andre sjaktdel (6), som alle begrenses av sjaktvegger (15). Installasjonsmodulen (1, 16) innbefatter installasjoner av en første type i den første sjaktdelen (4) og installasjoner av en andre type i den andre sjaktdelen (6), hvilke installasjoner er valgt fra gruppen som innbefatter elektriske ledninger, ventilasjonskanaler (10) og vannledninger (7) og avløpsledninger (8).
