Abstract

Sammensetninger og metoder for å detektere og kontrollere omdannelsen til mukoiditet i Pseudomonas aeruginosa er omtalt. Foreliggende oppfinnelse tilveiebringer deteksjon av skiftet fra ikke-mukoid til mukoid tilstand av P. aeruginosa ved å måle mucE ekspresjon eller MucE proteinnivåer. Interaksjonen mellom MucE og AlgW kontrollerer skiftet til mukoiditet i villtype P. aeruginosa. Det er også omtalt et alginat biosyntese heterologt ekspresjonssystem for anvendelse i screening av kandidatsubstanser som inhiberer omdannelsen til mukoiditet.
