Abstract

Fremgangsmåte ved industriell fremstilling av ren (presipitert) CaCO3 omfattende å tilveiebringe minst én naturlig karbonatholdig bergart, å findele (pulverisere) den karbonatinneholdende bergart for å øke dens overflate. I en første reaksjonssone (R1) bringes den findelte karbonatinneholdende bergart i kontakt med vann og CO2 under trykk høyere enn standardtrykk, ved temperatur i et område fra 30 til 500 °C og pH lavere enn 5, idet karbonat derved går i løsning. Oppløst materiale overføres fra den første reaksjonssone (R1) til en andre reaksjonssone (R2) som holdes ved et trykk lavere enn trykket i første reaksjonssone og en pH høyere enn pH i første reaksjonssone, idet nærvær av H+ ioner i første og andre reaksjonssone stammer fra reaksjonen mellom CO2 og vann. I den andre reaksjonssone blir kalsiumkarbonat utfelt ved en pH høyere enn 5.
