Abstract
En ventilenhet har et ventillegeme (12) med en innløpspassasje (54) og en utløpspassasje (56). En strømningsåpning (72) er anordnet i et ventillegeme og tilveiebringer strømningskommunikasjon mellom innløpspassasjen (54) og utløpspassasjen (56). Et ventilsete (70) samvirker med strømningsåpningen (72) og en ventilplugg (60) for en ventil med variabel åpning for å åpne og lukke ventilen. Ventilpluggen (60) har et plugglegeme med en konisk formet, glatt avskrådd vegg (82), en proksimal ende og en kuppelformet, distal endeoverflate (88) som en glatt en overgang til den avskrådde sideveggen (82). Ventilpluggen (60) er bevegelig mellom en åpen stilling ute av kontakt med ventilsetet (70) og en lukket stilling i anlegg mot ventilsetet (70). En maksimalt åpen posisjon av ventilpluggen i forhold til ventilsetet (70), kan selektivt endres for å variere strømningskarakteristikker gjennom ventilenheten.
