Ved en fremgangsmåte til deteksjon av fluidinnstrømning (f.eks. en gassinn- stræmning) i et borehull (10), overfares det fra nede i hullet 'et inngangssignal (20) gjennom ringkanalen (16) som er definert mellom borestrengen (12) og borehullet (10), slik at transfer- funksjonen H(SA) til ringkanalen således lar seg bestemme og overvåke.
