Abstract

Foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører en fremgangsmåte for å begrense innholdet av forurensninger ved fremstilling av alkalimetallklorat, ved at kloratfremstillin-gen integreres med fremstilling av klor og alkalimetallhydroksyd, hvilke hjelpekjemikalier anvendes i kloratprosessen. Alkalimetallkloratet fremstilles ved elektrolyse av en renset elektrolytt inneholdende alkalimetallklorid, alkalisering av den erholdte kloratelektroiytt og utfelling av dannet klorat ved inndampning av kloratelektrolytten. Det i krystal-lisatoren avskilte meget rene vann og alkalimetallklorid anvendes i en membran- eller diafragmacelle for fremstilling av alkalimetallhydroksyd, som anvendes ved fremstilling av alkalimetallklorat. Tor surgjøring kan enten rent klor eller hydrogenklorid absorbert i vann anvendes, idet hydrogenklorid fremstilles- fra den i prosessen genererte klor og hydrogengass.
