Abstract

Foreliggende oppfinnelse beskriver doseringsformer for vedvarende frigjøring av liothyronin i kombinasjon med normal eller vedvarende frigjøring av thyroksin i et molart forhold på ca l til 50:1, særlig 5 til 20:1, og som kan brukes i thyroidhormon-erstatningsterapi. Overraskende har man funnet at ved å tilsette liothyronin og eventuelt thyroksin i doser- ingsformer for en forlenget virkning i de angitte forhold, reduserer man eller eliminerer man de bivirkninger som vanligvis er forbundet med thyroidhormon-erstatningsterapi. Preparatet kan være en doseringsform som inneholder salter av både thyroksin og liothyronin som frigjøres på en vedvarende måte. Preparatene vil typisk inneholde fra 5 - 25 ng lio- thyronin. Det er også beskrevet fremgangsmåter for frem- stilling av de farmasøytiske preparatene. Preparatene kan brukes ved behandling av sykdomstilstander såsom hypothyroidi, hyperthyroidi (i kombinasjon med thyrostatisk aktive forbin- delser) , såkalt "TSH" undertrykkende terapi og depresjon.
