Fremgangsmåte for modifisering av lignocelluloseholdige. materialer ved en kjemisk behandling omfattende behandling av materialet i rekkefølge eller samtidig med ftalsyreanhydrld og en termoherdende harpiks ved forhøyet temperatur, og sluttelig varmeherding av det ftalylerte, harpiksimpregnerte produkt. Det således fremstilte lignocelluloseholdige materiale kan gis former eller støpes til produkter som har utmerket dimesjonsstabilitet.
