Abstract

Et strålingsvarmeskjold er dannet av en skjerm som f.eks. vevet trådduk (12) som er festet til den ene siden av en rektangulær metallramme (10). Et eller flere av rammeelementene (16,18,20,22,30,32,34) er hule og er utstyrt med åpninger (26,44) som tillater luft å strømme gjennom deler av rammen (10). De hule rammeelementer tillater luft som har blitt oppvarmet av rammeelementet å unnslippe, og trekker derved inn kald luft i rammeelementet. Dette reduserer temperaturen til rammeelementet og reduserer mengden varme som overføres til delen som varmeskjoldet er festet til.
