Abstract
En anordning for avstandsmåling omfatter utstyr for å modulere et utsendt mikrobølgesignal med en første pseudo-tilfeldig støykode (ved 15) og et MF-signal (ved 13). Retursignalene moduleres (ved 18) med en andre pseudo-tilfeldig støykode med mønster identisk med den første kode, men med forskjellig frekvens. Når de to koder sammenfaller genereres en på- visningstopp som ved hjelp av en prosessor (25) sammenlignes med et referansetoppsignal for å gi en tidsforskyvning som representerer den distanse det utsendte signal har vandret. Anordningen er særlig anvendelig ved overvåking av væskenivåer i en tank.
