Abstract
Beskyttelse av metalloverflate utføres ved å påføre et belegg av glasssaktig emalje på overflaten slik at emaljen danner en sterk binding med metallet og deretter påsprøyte et belegg av atomisert be- skyttende metall på emaljen. Fortrinnsvis utføres ¿¿ en slagoperasjon på overflaten av det påsprøytede metall samtidig eller umiddelbart etter påsprøyting av metallet. Fremgangsmåten er spesielt fordelaktig ved beskyttelse av marine strukturer mot korrosjon, og når det beskyttende metall er kobber-nikkel vil belegget beskytte mot groing av marine dyr. Den glassaktige emalje danner et elektrisk isolerende lag som forhindrer galvanisk virkning mellom stål og kobber-nikkel i nærvær av sjøvann.
