Abstract
Et radarapparatet overvåker fra en opphoyet plass et veiområde hvorved hastigheten og klassifiserings- kjcnnetegnene til kjorctoyet bestemmes i forskjellige avstandsområder med hensyn til radarapparatet. I den forbindelse blir hastigheten målt i et fjerntliggende og kjoretoyomrissct minst i et nærliggende avstandsom- råde. Med en ekstra modulasjon av radarsenderen til trafikkradarapparatet blir det gjennomført en av- standsseleksjon og hermed måles silucttcn av kjorc- toyet for klassifisering, l den forbindelse kan det såvel for hastighctsmålingen som også for klassifise- ringen benyttes flere radarstråler. For hastighetsmålingen kan det benyttes overlappende peilestrålcr. For å oppnå bedre konturskarphet blir med bruk av metoder for smalere peiling de for klas- sifisering målte radarsignaler korrelert med et på for- hånd beregnet tidsmessig signalforlop som er bestemt ved radarparametre, oppstillingsgeometri samt den på forhånd målte hastighet av det kjøretoy som skal klassifiseres.
