Abstract
LavtemperaturrektifIserlngsprosess og- apparat hvor en komprimert gassformlg blanding, for eksempel luft, rektifIseres for dannelse av en komponent av lavere flyktlghet i væskeform som deretter pumpes til et avleveringstrykk. Etter å ha blitt pumpet blir kompo- nenten av lavere flyktlghet fordampet l en hoved- varmeveksler. For å bevirke fordampningen blir en stram av den komprimerte gassformlge blandingen som avkjøles i hovedvarmeveksleren ytterligere komprimert for dannelse av en ytterligere komprimert strøm. For å mlnlnalisere termodynamlsk irreversibilltet i hoved- varmeveksleren over en teoretisk inneklemtpunkt- temperatur deri blir en porsjon av den ytterligere komprimerte strømmen fjernet fra hovedvarmeveksleren ved eller nær den teoretiske innklemtpunkttemperaturen og blir deretter enda ytterligere komprimert og innført ved et nivå i hovedvarmeveksleren som befinner seg ved en varmere temperatur enn den teoretiske Innklemt- punkttemperaturen. Enten resten av den ytterligere komprimerte strømmen eller en annen strøm av den komprimerte gassformige blandingen som avkjøles fjernes fra hovedvarmeveksleren og blir deretter avkjølt til en temperatur som er egnet for dens rektlfisering uten ytterligere bruk av hovedvarmeveksleren. Slik fjerning reduserer termodynamisk irreversibllitet i hoved- varmeveksleren under den teoretiske inneklemtpunkt- temperaturen.
