Abstract

Proteinholdige mikroboble-kontrastmidler inneholdende gass- eller gass-forløpere, f.eks. til bruk i ultralyd- og/eller MR-avbildning, der protein-matrixen er kryssbundet ved reaksjon med et bifunksjonelt aldehyd (f.eks. et dialdehyd som glutaraldehyd eller et a, p-umettet aldehyd som akrolein), i et vandig medium ved hovedsakelig nøytral pH, viser forbedret stabilitet in vivo og ved lagring, særlig hvis matrixen også reageres med et SchifFs base reduksjonsmiddel slik som et borhydrid. Modifisering av størrelsesfordelingen av slike kryssbunde protein- og gassholdige kontrastmidler, f. eks. ved å redusere gjennomsnittstørrelse av mikroboblene, forbedrer deres stabilitet ytterligere og tillater framstilling kv nye kontrastmidler med en særlig smal størrelsesfordeling for mikroboblene.
