Abstract
En optisk bølgelederkrets omfatter en modussplitter av en inngangsleder (1/4/6.1) og første og andre utgangsledere (6.2/2, 6.3/3), og en modusomfonner (5) innlemmet i inngangslederen for omforming av en fraksjon av et optisk signal (I;), som kommer inn via inngangsbølgelederen, av en første forplantningsmo- dus med gjensidig forskjellig ordensantall. Modusom- formeren (5) har en første bølgelederdel (5.1) og en andre bølgelederdel (5.2) som ligger opptil hverand- re via en eneste diskontinuitet (7). De første og andre deler (5.1 og 5.2) har forplantningsmodalitet- er, og som et resultat av dette kan en kobling finne sted i diskontinuiteten mellom to forplantningsmodi av forskjellig orden, mens graden (x) av diskontinu- iteten bestemmer omformingsfraksjonen for å oppnå et ønskelig splitteforhold ved utsendelse av signaler (I01, I02)
