Abstract
Integrert optisk modusomformer forsynt med.en kanal- formet bølgeleder omfattende en periodisk sammenkje- ding av to bølgeledende underseksjoner (P) og (Q) definert ved en stripeformet struktur som er under- støttet av et substrat. Bølgelederprofilene til underseksjonene (P) og (Q) er definert ved to del- striper, av hvilke minst en, men fortrinnsvis begge, er forsynt med et spor (Sp, SQ) som går i langsgående retning av den aktuelle delstripe. Sporene er påført på en slik måte at bare feltfordelingen til en av de to ledede modi omfattet av omformingen, er påvirket. Hensikt: Økt omforming pr. grensesnitt; og en lavere dempning i spesifikke utførelsesformer.
