Abstract
For å øke antallet abonnentnettporter som det kan (ås tilgang til på et tilgangsnett av typen bredbåndet tjenesteintegrert digitalt nett (B-ISDN) som utnytter teknologien med asynkron overføringsmodus (ATM), er det frembragt en konsentratorfunksjon ved hjelp av statistiske multipleksere og en "pleiefunksjon" (Grooming Function) ved hjelp av ATM- velgere, mens egentilgangsnettforbindelser er frembragt ved å kombinere "oppstrøms"- porter i kjernenettet eller -nettene og "nedstrøms^porter til abonnenter i en felles adressegruppe og hver abonnentport samt hver kjernenett-tilgangsport er tilordnet en unik OSl-lag 2-adresse. Tilgangsnettets destinasjonsadresse bæres i feltet for den virtuelle baneidentifikator (VPI) i hver ATM-celle formatert i samsvar med relevante CCITT-anbefalinger for brukernettgrensesnitt (UNI) eller nett-til-nett grensesnitt (NNI) og feltet for den virtuelle kanalidentifikator (VCI) ifølge CCITT-anbefalingene er inndelt i to delfelt som bærer henholdsvis OSl-lag 2-kildeadressen og et felt for terminalutstyridenti- fikatoren (TEI), idet TEI-feltet brukes for å identifisere en virtuell kanal ved kilde- og destinasjonsendene av en bane.
