Abstract

Det er beskrevet en fremgangsmåte for fotokatal>nisk polymerisasjon av et cyklisk olefin eller minst to forskjellige cykliske olefiner i nærvær av en metallforbindelse som katalysator, hvorved man gjennomfører en fotokjemisk ringåpnings-metatese-polymerisasjon i nærvær av en katalytisk mengde av minst en termostabil titan(IV)-, niob(V)-, molybden(VI)- eller wolfram(VI)forbindeIse, hvori en silylmetylgruppe og minst et halogen er bundet til metall. Fremgangsmåten kan også gjennomføres slik at man forst bestråler og avslutter polymerisasjonett ved oppvarming. Fremgangsmåten egner seg f.eks. for fi-emstilling av termoplastiske formmasser, besjiktningcr og relieffavbildninger.
