Abstract
Det er beskrevet en fremgangsmåte for fotokatalytisk polymerisasjon av et cyklisk olefin eller minst to forskjellige cykliske olefmer i nærvær av en metallforbindelse som katalysator, som er kjennetegnet ved at man gjennomfjarer en fotokjemisk ringåpnings- metatese-polymerisasjon i nærvær av en katalytisk mengde av minst en karbenfri, toverdig-kationisk rutenium- eller osmiumforbindelse, som inneholder minst en fosfingruppe, minst en fotolabil ligand, og eventuelt nøytralligander bundet til metallatomet, hvorved totalt 2 eller 3 ligander er bundet, og som inneholder syreanioner for ladningsutligning. Fremgangsmåten kan også gjennomfizrres slik at man først bestråler og avslutter polymerisasjonen ved oppvarming. Fremgangsmåten egner seg for eksempel for fremstilling av termoplastiske formmasser, beskiktninger og relieffavbildninger.
