Tegn- strengdata som mottas via en kommunika- sjonsstyreseksjon (13), lagres midler- tidig i en mottakingsbuffer (6), og startindikeringsinformasjonen og slutt- indikeringsinformasjonen detekteres fra de mottatte tegnstrengdata. Tegnstreng- data som er beliggende mellom startindi- keringsinformasjonen og sluttindiker- ingsinformasjonen, uttrekkes deretter fra de mottatte tegnstrengdata, og de uttrukne tegnstrengdata nedlastes i en fil. Da en nødvendig del av de mottatte data innskrives i en fil, hindres fil- størrelsen i å øke, og en bruker trenger ikke å gi instruksjon om starten og slutten av de ønskede tegnstrengdata som skal mottas, slik at instruksjonsopera- sjonen forenkles vesentlig.
