Abstract

En prøve av antikoagulert pattedyrfullblod blandes med en kombinasjon av reagenser som vil redusere de naturlige frastøtningskreftene som pattedyr-erytrocytter har for hverandre. Den behandlede blodprøve sentrifugeres i et rør inneholdende et "buffy coat" ekspanderende innlegg for derved fysisk å ekspandere den aksiale størrelse av blodprøvens "buffy coaf-komponenter i røret. Ved å redusere tendensen av erytrocyttene til å frastøte hverandre, kan en oppnå en klarere avgrensning mellom erytrocytter og "buffy coat". Effekten av agglutinasjonsreagensene som er blitt tilsatt til blodprøvene vil også økes. Den ovenfornevnte prosedyre og reagensene gjør det mulig for første gang nøyaktig å analysere en sentrifugert prøve av antikoagulert oksefullblod og derfra oppnå hematokritt og differensialtelling av hvite celler. l tillegg, kan humane blodprøver som ellers utviser en strømningstendes bli nøyaktig analysert ved tilsetningen av en kombinasjon av passende erytrocytt-frastøtningsreduserende reagenser sammen med agglutinasjonsreagenser.
