Abstract
Karbonylhalogenid fremstilles av karbon- monoksid og halogenidanioner ved elek- ; trokjemisk omsetning av hovedsakelig tørt hydrogenhalogenid. Både oksydasjon av tørt hydrogenhalogenid og dannelse av karbonylhalogenid utføres i anoderommet i en elektrokjemisk celle. Dette eliminerer behovet for mange utstyrsenheter for utførelse av disse reaksjoner. Dessuten behøves ingen katalysator for å danne halogenidanionene og fremstille karbonyl- halogenidet. I tillegg er helsefarene forbundet med fremstilling av karbonyl- halogenid, som fosgen, ved av klorerte hydrokarboner med atmosfærisk oksygen ved høye temperaturer praktisk talt elimin- ert. Halogenidanionene produsert ved oksydasjonen av tørt hydrogenhalogenid er tørre, og derved elimineres behovet for forvarming før halogenidionene omsettes med karbonmonoksid. Karbonylhalogenid kan derfor fremstilles lettere, sikrere og billigere enn tidligere.
