Abstract

En ikke-lineær elektro-optisk modulator som kan være en elektro-absorbsjonsmodulator, mottar OTDM-datastrømmen på sin optis- ke inngang. En elektrisk styreinngang for modulatoren er koplet til utgangen fra trinnet med variabel.forsinkelse. Den elektro-optiske modulator frembringer på sin utgangsside en OTDM-kanal som velges ved å innstille forsinkelsen i trinnet med variabel forsinkelse. Dette trinn med variabel forsinkelse kan omfatte et antall logiske porter, særlig OG-porter, som er koplet mellom mikrostrimlene i et par av mikrostirmmel-forsinkelseslinjer.
